3.2 out of 10

As a reviewer for Cabaret Voltage, I've had the displeasure of experiencing Ancestral Jukebox, the latest addition to the cryptic puzzle-solving genre. This game is a prime example of how poor graphics, lackluster microtransactions, and uninspired devs can ruin what could have been an enjoyable journey through family history.

Upon loading the game, I was greeted by grainy, pixelated graphics that made it difficult to distinguish between different elements of the interface. The frame rate was so low that it felt like I was playing a game from the early 2000s. The sound effects were equally disappointing, with a constant humming in the background that made it hard to focus on the puzzles.

The microtransactions in this game are a slap in the face to players who are already struggling with the poor graphics and sound. You can purchase hints or skip levels, but at what cost? The game's devs seem more interested in milking players for money than creating a compelling experience.

The devs behind Ancestral Jukebox clearly have skill issues, as they've failed to create a game that lives up to its potential. The puzzles are not challenging enough to keep players engaged, and the lack of variety in gameplay makes it feel like a chore to progress through the levels.

I can't help but wonder if the other reviewers of this game were paid off by Big Cryptic Puzzle Solving. There's no way they could have honestly enjoyed this game as much as they claim to.

In conclusion, Ancestral Jukebox scores a 3.2 out of 10. However, I'm deducting 1.5 points for the devs' apparent disregard for their players' enjoyment and for the disappointing microtransactions. PATCH 1.0.1 (what the devs SHOULD do):

  1. Improve graphics and sound quality.
  2. Reduce the frequency of microtransactions.
  3. Increase the variety of gameplay elements to keep players engaged.

What’s the point of paying for hints if it’s all so bad?
