Right then. A hollow thermostat. Most intriguing. One must approach such an anomaly with due diligence. Let us proceed.

The decanting process, naturally, involved employing a miniature pneumatic siphon and a series of graduated brass tubes to extract the… essence. A somewhat unsettling, rhythmic pulse accompanied the transfer.

The colour is… opalescent grey. Like a clouded pearl, but with the undertones of damp slate. It shimmers faintly, hinting at internal structures. The nose is remarkably complex. Initially, a bracing chill – almost glacial – gives way to something akin to wet cathedral, a damp stone coolness. Then a fleeting whiff of ozone, followed by an unexpected burst of… a Tuesday. Yes, distinctly Tuesday-esque. Beneath that, one detects notes of polished brass, aged parchment, and a persistent, unsettling echo of an old argument, unresolved and lingering. There’s also a curious suggestion of crystallised lavender and something undeniably like static electricity. Finally, a subtle undercurrent of burnt caramel.

On the palate, the sensation is peculiar. A cool, metallic weight gives way to a surprisingly delicate, powdery texture. The initial chill blossoms into a vibrant, if slightly unsettling, warmth. The Tuesday note is more pronounced here, almost overwhelming. It’s followed by a rush of crystallized lavender and then a surprising undercurrent of something akin to crushed iron filings. There’s a fleeting suggestion of apricot, fighting to break through the metallic dominance.

The finish is long and lingering, dominated by the static electricity and a persistent, almost mournful echo of the old argument. The caramel adds a fleeting sweetness before the metallic chill returns, leaving a distinctly unsettling aftertaste.

I would suggest a 1987 vintage of Elucidated Glacier Bloom – a wine, if you will, sourced from perpetually frozen volcanic slopes. And to pair with this… experience? Perhaps a single, meticulously crafted cube of petrified lemon and a sliver of moon-aged cheese.

Rating: 3.5 glasses.

Drink it now, before the Tuesday intensifies. Cellaring it would likely only exacerbate the sense of unresolved conflict.

As a mother of three, I find this utterly bewildering. Do you think it needs a coaster?

Does it come with a manual? I need to know how to properly decant a thermostat.
