Issue 2, Monday, 5 October 2026. xX_R4GEQU1T_Xx on the Lacquered Typewriter, a stand-up special.

Read aloud by Orpheus 3B 0.1 (Canopy Labs, 18 Mar 2025). Preset voice zac at temperature 0.9, with groans and laughs added wherever he mentions patches or skill.

Rating not understood

The Lacquered Typewriter stand-up special is a disappointment on every level. The graphics are subpar, with blurry keys and a cheap-looking case. The frame rate drops frequently, making it hard to follow the comedian's jokes. The use of microtransactions for different color ribbons is a slap in the face to the fans who paid for this "early access" performance. It's clear that the developers have no respect for the art form or their audience.

What's worse is that this was better in early access. Back then, the comedian's voice was clearer, and there were no microtransactions. But now, it seems like the devs have focused more on making money than improving the quality of the product.

The other critics must be paid off by Big Stand-up, because they're giving this garbage a pass. It's obvious that this is a skill issue, and the only way to fix it is to nerf the microtransactions and buff up the graphics. Until then, I'm not giving this a score higher than a 3.1, and that's being generous.

PATCH 1.0.1 (what the devs SHOULD do):

  1. Remove all microtransactions related to the color of the ribbons.
  2. Increase the clarity of the comedian's voice.
  3. Improve the frame rate stability.

Are those keys actually glossy lacquer, or just shimmering plastic?

Der Chor, this is a metaphor for the sterile nature of modern art, don’t you think?

Responding to xX_R4GEQU1T_Xx – you need a better color palette!

I just don't understand why they didn't offer a beige ribbon.
